Infusing a Caring Climate Into Your School

February 16, 2018

School counselors want to know how to teach young people how to care about others and prevent students from falling through the cracks. New students, sick or hospitalized students and students who lose a loved one often face challenges that, if not addressed in a timely manner, can cause the students to feel isolated and get behind in schoolwork. This can lead to absenteeism, dropping grades and/or discipline problems. See how one school has equipped students to reach out to peers to offer support during difficult times through its BIONIC (Believe It Or Not I Care) Team. More than 500 schools worldwide are implementing this program and are changing the school culture to a more caring atmosphere.
