In 2014, Arizona, a predominantly rural state, had a graduation rate of 75 percent and a dropout rate of 3.2 percent. Although many high schools are struggling with even lower graduation rates and higher dropout rates than the Arizona, some are breaking from this negative trend. Learn practical strategies from school counselors in two rural high schools on how they are making a measurable difference for their students by steadily increasing their graduation rate, decreasing their dropout rate, building a college-going culture and inspiring all students to reach higher. Although this webinar focuses on rural populations, many strategies presented can be adapted for all high schools in need of a stronger postsecondary culture.
